From Rock Bottom to Rising Leader: The Unfiltered Journey of Chris Dreisbach
Chris Dreisbach’s story begins in Emmaus, Pennsylvania—a quiet suburb where he was raised in a home rooted in traditional values, compassion, and the dignity of hard work. But even strong foundations can fracture. In his early teens, Chris began experimenting with alcohol and drugs, setting off a descent into addiction that would test everything he had been taught. By his twenties, he was trapped in a cycle of substance use, legal troubles, and failed attempts at recovery.
In 2007, facing the consequences of his actions, a judge made a life-changing decision—not to send Chris to prison, but to mandate his admission to a long-term treatment facility in Lititz, PA. For the first time, Chris found not just sobriety, but solidarity—support from people who understood his journey and offered him a foundation to rebuild.
A New Life: From Recovery to Action
Recovery didn’t just change Chris Dreisbach’s life—it ignited his purpose. In 2010, he launched A New Life Sober Living, a safe, structured housing initiative designed to support individuals transitioning out of treatment and into stable community life. What began as one house quickly grew into a trusted resource that offered residents dignity, accountability, and a chance to rebuild.
But housing was only the beginning. Recognizing that employment is a critical barrier for people in recovery, Chris founded a painting and repair company to create meaningful, reliable work opportunities for individuals facing challenges due to their backgrounds. He then earned his real estate license—not just as a professional step, but as a mission to help community members secure long-term housing and lasting stability. Over time, these ventures came together to form a powerful ecosystem of recovery, employment, and reintegration that continues to impact lives across the region.
Blueprints for Recovery—and for Change
In 2016, Chris and a group of mission-driven professionals launched Blueprints for Addiction Recovery—a treatment center that combined clinical best practices with the lived experience of community recovery. What began in a small office with a handful of dedicated team members has grown into a thriving organization with hundreds of employees operating across multiple licensed facilities—and continuing to expand.
Blueprints has remained at the forefront of innovation, introducing the Chapters program—a groundbreaking residential model that provides individuals in early recovery with a structured, peer-supported living environment focused on accountability, personal growth, and long-term success.
Beyond the walls of treatment, Chris has helped shape programs that transform how communities respond to addiction:
-
SecondChancePA – A pre-arrest diversion initiative that interrupts incarceration before it begins.
-
Pathways to Recovery – Developed in collaboration with the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office to redirect non-violent drug offenders toward treatment instead of prison.
-
A federal peer-support grant partnership with Lancaster County, offering mental health services rooted in lived experience.
These programs haven’t just helped individuals—they’ve influenced policy, inspired new models of care, and raised the standard for what recovery and reintegration can truly look like.
Building Opportunity—One Venture at a Time
Chris’s entrepreneurial spirit continues to ripple outward. From real estate investment and property management to launching a wrestling academy, and a food service company, every venture Chris touches serves a dual purpose: create opportunity, and build community.
He doesn’t just fund ideas—he empowers people. Chris understands that none of his success would’ve been possible without the trust and investment of those who believed in his potential. Now, he’s made it his mission to pay that forward, creating platforms where others can rise on their own terms.
“I was given a second chance. Everything I build now is a way to give others theirs.”
Rebuilding Lives, Starting with His Own
Christopher “Chris” Dreisbach was born in October 1986 in Emmaus, Pennsylvania – a small, quiet suburb south of Allentown. He grew up in a supportive home where he was taught strong traditional values, the power of compassion and service, and the vitality of an unwavering work ethic. Despite all this, Chris began experimenting with alcohol and drugs in early adolescence and started on a path that would lead him into addiction and desperation, through personal ruin and ultimately into recovery with the clear and uncompromising purpose that drives him today.
After a number of failed rehabilitation attempts and run-ins with the criminal justice system, a compassionate judge ordered Chris to admit to a long-term treatment program in Lititz, PA in 2007. This was a fresh start for Chris, who had finally found – in that program and through the compassion and support of people who knew how to truly help him – a foundation on which to build a new life.
In 2010, Chris realized that individuals in the Lancaster recovery community lacked reliable housing and support and launched A New Life Sober Living, LLC., his first business, to make safe, structured housing available to individuals transitioning from addiction treatment into community recovery. A New Life was the launchpad for several business ventures and partnerships, all community-focused and service driven. A painting and repairs company followed, which provided employment opportunities for residents who were otherwise “unemployable”. Chris then pursued a real estate license to help his friends, clients and employees find affordable long-term housing once they had established a strong foundation and were ready to grow into richer, more satisfying, and self-reliant lives. A New Life eventually grew to over 13 occupied residences, the painting and repairs business gave hundreds of people opportunities to learn skills, earn income, and do meaningful work, and Chris has remained one of the highest performing agents at his brokerage since soon after getting his license.
By 2016, Chris was ready to realize an ambition he had held since first coming to Lancaster County. He organized a team of young, mission-driven professionals to found Blueprints for Addiction Recovery, Inc., a behavioral health treatment facility that would combine the best in evidence-based behavioral medicine with the tested principles of community recovery. It would be open to anyone who needed help. The model – a simple commitment to compassionate care, without compromise – has proven an overwhelming success.
From a small team working out of a modest office in Elizabethtown Borough, Blueprints has grown into a network of multiple licensed treatment and recovery facilities, employing a substantial team of dedicated professionals. The organization is well-positioned to continue expanding into new markets and services in the years ahead.
Outside of its core treatment programs, Blueprints has become a respected thought leader and innovator in community-based initiatives. SecondChancePA, founded in 2018, is a pre-arrest diversion program designed to keep individuals out of jail and set them on a path to sustainable recovery. Pathways to Recovery, developed in collaboration with the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office, helps redirect individuals arrested for non-violent drug offenses toward treatment instead of incarceration. In addition, Blueprints provides mental health peer support in partnership with Lancaster County Behavioral Health and Disability Services through a federal grant. New programs and initiatives continue to be explored, launched, and celebrated across the community.

“For me, the meaning of recovery changes and grows all the time, 16 years ago it was an impossible dream; something I’d given up as hopeless. Then I got a real chance. Every day from then on I was given newer and greater opportunities. I met teachers. I did (and continue to do) the work to embrace and give back the gifts that have been given to me. Recovery grew from a dream into a greater reality; from a threshold to a foundation for a life of purpose, service, peace and success. Today, my Recovery doesn’t just belong to me. Iowe it to the people who have helped me, and hope I can share it with the people who still need help. What I do today I do to make recovery possible for others, from making just a little bit of time for a midnight phone call to founding and fighting for innovative programs across the county and the commonwealth.”

Chris continues to pursue new opportunities and partnerships throughout the county. He has co-founded a real estate investment and property management company, a local community art gallery and marketplace, a professional wrestling academy, a food service company, and others. People approach Chris with ideas and business proposals because he has a proven track record of qualifying the right people to do good, profitable, and meaningful work. He couldn’t have gotten anywhere if he hadn’t been given real opportunities by people, lenders, agencies, and partners who saw the value in him, and he is committed to making those same opportunities accessible to as many people as he can.
"We don’t know where we'll be in a week or in a month. We do what we can for as long as we can, always trying out new experiences."
